Barnsley-born ballet dancer Tala Lee Turton made history as only the third British female to graduate from the world-famous Bolshoi Ballet Academy in its 245-year history. B&H were brought on board to tell the world of her extraordinary journey from Yorkshire to Russia via social media and PR
Objective: B&H were tasked with raising Tala Lee Turton’s profile, predominantly through social media, specifically Instagram to increase her presence and following.
Strategy: The team also created personal brand guidelines for Tala, ensuring consistency across all platforms whilst differentiating her multi-faceted talents such as mentor, fitness, health and wellbeing, choreographer as well as regular blogs about her journey to become a Russian-trained classical ballet dancer and her life on and off stage.
Results: Over a 6-month period, B&H developed a clear social media strategy to direct Tala’s online presence and suggested best practice for social media. We were responsible for content creation and identifying key accounts and hashtags to follow to drive further engagement and broaden the existing audience.
We significantly increased Tala’s organic following, engagement, reach and impressions and a brand refresh to the existing website and social platforms, coupled with improving SEO led to a fantastic increase in traffic, improved search engine rankings and coherent design throughout.
B&H led a strategic PR campaign to raise Tala’s profile and garner sponsorship opportunities. We secured pieces in two national publications, two major feature interviews in glossy magazines, expansive profile coverage in regional media and a slot on BBC Regional news.
